Peer review

Peer review is a system to read and evaluate the articles submitted to a journal. It involves a reading by two scholars who formulate a written opinion, possibly supplemented by some ameliorative proposal. MJ makes use of peer review system from the second issue of 2012. The journal assigns to two anonymous reviewers to each paper. The evaluation required by the two reviewers concerns the publication standards or any suggestions, and are taken in charge by the editorial board. The opinion that is requested by the reviewers is not a rating, but a careful reading, in order to flesh out new or interesting aspects of the essay, and to suggest how to tackle its possible weaknesses. At the end of the review process, the author receives a communication from the journal that notifies the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript providing a summary of reasons.
